Let's be Frank it has never been a fun place to be but today is just hilarious.
700 million dollars in cash in a pension fund, this probably isn't massively unusual but immediately we need a discussion about how all of the dollars will be spent here. News flash, the investment will be a tiny portion of that.
People claiming they broke the takeover live on air and have further exclusive info... Despite the takeover being broken with a copy of a what's app message
People claiming that cooks language used in the presser is a definate source to be concerned about
Yesterday I read someone speculating about lambert coming back.
Twitter is creating its own narrative and divide amongst fans, it's utterly chock full of ridiculous debate.

Main lesson there is to steer clear of twitter altogether.
Its very much been established on here that most posters acknowledge that $700m is not earmarked for ITFC.

Poll: Would love to see one of our midfield contribute 10+ goals. Who is most likely.

'News flash, the investment will be a tiny portion of that.'
Genuine question on this, how could it be a tiny portion? if it was, will they be any better to take the club forward than Evans was? We already know it costs just under £10 Mill per season to cover a shortfall, then there's the academy and then there is still Pandemic football being played.
On average the top end championship clubs are spending between 60-£70 Million on wage bills alone

If its an investment fund they have to retain liquidity to invest appropriately to stay ahead of things. There's people seeing that number and talking as if it's ours to spend.
It just feels like we're setting ourselves up to be dissapointed or frustrated. Meanwhile loads of claims and def info merchants causing rifts and disagreements. Talking town have persisted that they broke the takeover news and that's persisting. Meanwhile over the weekend there was a lot of noise about people saying cook was walking which must of got back because he even addressed it this morning.
I think we post on socials without thinking it affects anyone around the team. No way responsible for the form but they must be hearing the speculation

Tbf I can't answer that as I'm not tuned into other fan bases and this is the first I've ever witnessed through social media. It's odd how the hype has caused all sorts off repurcussions because of how poor we were saturday

Thing is, it's the first piece of blame for the new owners to take on board... after all it wasn't a fan who tweeted about the funds it was the fund owner himself ( Well staff member)
You can't tweet that and then not expect it to be spoke about, it's done exactly what he wanted it to do, reach wide and be the talk of the moment.
I agree about the def info people on twitter it goes get annoying, the club could have resolved that very easily however after the game saturday and explained even via Phil, or to the papers that PC genuinely wanted to go straight in, speak to the players and then meet with O'Leary, the silence didn't help especially after cancelling the morning conference Friday and then the very first statement the club makes this morning is a one liner of PC basically thanking M.E and wishing the new owners all the best, it was laughable actually.

Can't really see what talk like that achieves other than doubling the price of any transfer targets.

Was very odd considering in the original interview they declined to. Speak about funds and stated it would weaken their negotiating position.

'it costs £10m per season to cover the shortfall'
But this is the argument, become more sustainable, build properly behind the scenes etc etc and there won't be this '£x amount to cover shortfall'.

I think in order to challenge at the top of the Championship we'd be less sustainable in the sense that more money would have to be pumped in and losses would grow. Unlikely to make a profit outside the Premier League.

I'd written my first story on it before the Athletic piece, saying that there was something in the rumours which had been circulating. I probably should have been stronger with it but wasn't sure of the involvement of some of those mentioned.
From there, a couple of people got in touch with me with further info which formed the basis for my story the following day. The Athletic's piece, which headlined on Cook being the new regime's manager target and the price being £17m and other than that was most of what was already known, came out as I was getting my second story together which included ME keeping five per cent and some land and a fire and police pension fund being the cash behind the deal, which I was told was £30m, which is nearer the mark if still a little way off as I think it's actually £30-something close to £40m.
Was a difficult story to verify initially because so few, in fact I'm guessing one, person at the club knew about it other than Marcus, so I was asking people about it and they genuinely thought it was nonsense.
Even last Wednesday morning people who I thought really must know about it if it was as imminent as other sources had suggested didn't know, in the same way as Paul Cook didn't.

Quite. It's be 700m Great British Pounds, none of this foreign muck. 🇬🇧
Loadsa money. Let's all start waving £20 notes at Norwich fans, I'm sure that'll work out well.
I'm not sure which I find more worrying. That some people seem incapable of understanding simple words and sentences and think we have $700m to spend. Or that they think that spending as much as we're allowed to would guarantee success. Money helps, but it's not a magic bullet.

He subsequently pointed out that those figures, which are the overall fund and don't have any relation to what's available to spend at Town, are publicly available.
It's known that the funds going into Town are a drop in the ocean when it comes to the overall fund.

Temper your expectations kids and things will feel a lot better. This Twitter thing, I’ve never been on it, it seems, to a middle aged man, pathetic at best most of the time, used by idiots from Trump to Norwood, or kids sending each other into suicidal whirlpools. From what I read, Instagram is worse? Why bother?
